2. Learners enrolled by an organisation
Many learners use Fledglings because their school, college, training provider or employer has given them access. In that case the organisation decides why your data is used, and may be the controller of it, with Fledglings acting on its behalf. Your organisation's own privacy notice will also apply, and you can ask it about how your data is used. You can still contact us at any time and we will help or pass your request to the right place.

5. Children and young people
Many of our learners are young people, and some are under 18. We only collect what we need to deliver and evidence their learning. Where a school, college, training provider or employer enrols a learner, that organisation is responsible for telling the learner, and where appropriate their parent or carer, how their data is used. If you are a parent or carer and have a question about a young person's data, please contact us.
6. Who we share your data with
We share personal data only where we need to, and only with:
- The organisation that enrolled you, so it can see your progress and engagement.
- Service providers who run parts of our service for us, such as our learning platform host (LearnWorlds), website security (Cloudflare), payments (Stripe), email (MailerLite), call booking (Calendly), video (YouTube) and analytics (Google Analytics, Umami and Simple Analytics). They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Business information services such as Apollo.io and Leadsy.ai, which help us understand which organisations visit our Site, where you have accepted marketing cookies.
- Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where needed.
- Regulators, law enforcement or courts, where the law requires it.
- A buyer or successor, if all or part of our business is sold or restructured. We would tell you before your data is transferred.
Our Cookie Policy lists the cookies these services set.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers store or process data outside the UK, for example in the European Economic Area or the United States. Where this happens, we make sure the transfer is protected, for example by relying on UK adequacy regulations or using the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
- Account and learning data is kept while your account is active, or while our agreement with your organisation is in place, and then deleted or anonymised unless your organisation asks us to keep it longer or return it.
- Financial records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Enquiries and marketing data are kept until they are no longer needed or you ask us to stop contacting you.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal data;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data;
- object to us using your data, including for direct marketing;
- ask us to transfer your data to you or another organisation; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
Some rights only apply in certain situations. To use any of them, email contact@fledglings.co. There is normally no fee, and we will reply within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent, and you can change your choices at any time. See our Cookie Policy for details.
11. Keeping your data secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including secure hosting, encrypted connections and limiting access to people who need it. No system is completely secure, so please keep your login details private and tell us straight away if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
12. Links to other websites
The Site links to other websites. We are not responsible for how those websites handle personal data, so please read their privacy policies.
