Getting ready for the life skills, financial education & online safety curriculum changes

New expectations are coming for how schools build life skills, money confidence and online safety into the learner journey. Fledglings helps you turn that into a clear, youth-led programme you can actually deliver and evidence.

Context

What’s changing between now and 2028?

Leaders don’t need another 50-page policy PDF. You need a clean view of what’s coming and when – especially where it touches life skills, money, RSHE and online safety.

2025–26
Updated RSHE expectations land.
Stronger guidance on relationships, harmful online cultures, misogyny, suicide prevention and mental health. Schools are expected to build this into planned, sequenced lessons – not just assemblies and one-offs.
Spring 2027
New national curriculum published.
A revised curriculum sets clearer expectations around life skills, financial education, digital literacy and citizenship. You get a short window to map what you already do and plug the most obvious gaps.
September 2028
First teaching of the new models.
By this point, schools and trusts are expected to show a planned, sequenced learner journey for life skills, money and online safety – and evidence of how it’s working, not just intentions.

In other words, you’ve got roughly three years to move from “we do bits of this” to “we can clearly show the journey our learners go on and the impact it’s having”.

Solution

How Fledglings helps you turn the new expectations into a strength.

Over the next three years, you can either chase one-off resources or build a joined-up, youth-led offer. Fledglings is built to wrap around what you already do and give you the evidence, inclusion and impact story you need.
