Fledglings Character education · 11–18

Character you can see them build.

A character education curriculum for secondary and sixth form — resilience, respect, responsibility and aspiration built through real decisions, not assemblies. It strengthens your personal development provision, and gives you the evidence to show it.

The approach

Character is practised, not preached.

You can't assembly a young person into resilience. Fledglings builds character through decisions they recognise — so the virtues are lived, and the engagement is genuine.

01 · Real scenarios

Through decisions, not slides

Interactive, real-life decision points where character actually shows up — handling failure, standing up for someone, doing the right thing when it's easier not to.

02 · Reflection

Thinking about who they're becoming

Pre- and post-reflection bookend each topic, so pupils reflect on their choices — and you can see the distance travelled over time.

03 · Evidence

A planned, monitored offer

Tracked engagement gives you real evidence of a deliberate character and personal development curriculum — not a one-off assembly.

The virtues

Character with substance.

Not abstract words on a wall — each virtue is taught through concrete situations from the world these young people actually live in.

01

Resilience

Handling setbacks, rejection and pressure — bouncing back and keeping going.

02

Respect

Valuing difference and treating people fairly, online and off.

03

Responsibility

Owning choices — with money, with time, with actions and consequences.

04

Aspiration

Believing a good future is possible, and building the skills to reach it.

The curriculum

Four curricula that build character.

Designed for the 11–18 range and written with young people, mapped to RSHE and personal development, so the virtues land rather than lecture.

Resilience

Confidence & Resilience

Emotional regulation, growth mindset, handling setbacks and everyday wellbeing.

Responsibility

Aspiration
